Christian B. McGuire, Fan Guest of Honor
Christian is a lifelong reader of SF and Fantasy, but he'll read pretty much anything someone puts in front of his nose and suggests he'll enjoy. He has been active in Fandom since the early '80s, discovered SF conventions in 1985, joined the LASFS and Time Meddlers in 1986 and his fanac has been spiraling out of control ever since. Besides the written word, Christian enjoys Manga, Anime (from the early 70's on), movies & T.V., wherever the genre can be found and presented for entertainment and enlightenment.
Christian has a vital interest in con-running for any type of convention. His convention running CV is broad and deep. He helped found Gallifrey and chaired or co-chaired it for the first 12 years. He has chaired Loscons, a NASFiC, and most recently LAConIV (a Worldcon). In his spare time he works on other conventions around the country. There are simply too many to list here. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of several 501(c)3s.
Christian aspires to the title Senior Cult Leader (Ret.) and thinks he'll achieve this goal sometime in the next few years. Christian can cavort and pun on a variety of subjects too numerous to list here, but a modest selection includes fandom, clubs, convention running, and finding the best person to do a job.
